Sonja is a professional photographer specialising in portraits of people; living life, celebrating, working, being. She is naturally empathetic which has proven to be an invaluable skill in her profession. She prides herself in her consciousness and innate ability to emotionally understand how her clients might feel while she is working with them. She tries to see things from their point of view, and imagine herself in their place at that time, and has found this works really well to make the most true pictures with her clients.
Sonja has received a Masters of Fine Art in Photography with Honours from the University of Ulster; Belfast, Northern Ireland and has been working as a professional photographer for the past 7 years, along side working on her personal projects.
Her personal work explores psychological complexities of home life and motherhood and the 'quotidiene'. Her inquiry and experiments with her camera, while making pictures reveals new perceptions, experiences and places in the home.
